Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience depending on relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's Degree in Taxation a plus
  • A licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence and resolve operational issues
  • Can learn, teach, and supervise in a fast-paced environment and is receptive to feedback and coaching
  • Ability to identify and propose resolutions to complex tax issues
  • Has a high level of attention to detail
  • Has a positive attitude and a team player mentality with a can-do spirit
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficiency in Thomas Reuters, GoSystem, ProSystems or equivalent is preferred
Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and qualified federal tax credits
  • Build technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities, and applies them to client situations
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationship with key stakeholders and prospective clients
  • Work closely with clients to advise on income tax issues and tax planning
  • Responsible for meeting engagement timelines and budget guidelines
  • Provide job status updates to partners and client personnel in a timely manner
  • Work closely with and provide a leadership role to office staff and seniors
  • Oversee planning and scheduling of client engagements
  • Supervise expectations of engagement teams, project manager and maintain due dates
  • Develop Seniors and Staff to help them grow professionally
  • Research technical and complex tax issues
  • Manage, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to Seniors and Staff
  • Provide formal and informal feedback
  • Effectively utilize and train others on firm tax preparation software
  • Develop strong relationships with firm professionals and clients
  • Attend networking events and participate in staff and senior level trainings, recruiting events and firm activities
  • Ensure high quality of work product
