Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manger Tool Die Making 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Tooling organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.
The Manager Tool Die Making 1 will have the responsibility, authority, and accountability for leading the Standard Tooling organization across multiple restricted and non-restricted programs, including quality, cost and schedule objectives. The selected candidate will manage a team of Standard Tooling Crib Attendants whose responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and supporting assembly line toolboxes for production.
- Managing Standard Tooling kits and crib inventory.
- Manage calibration requirements for all Standard Tools.
- Manage capital assets owned by the Standard Tooling organization.
- Support Factory Accountability requirements for all Standard Tooling Services.
- Provide Standard Tool equipment and support on-site repair and preventive maintenance plans.
Essential Management Functions:
- Provides direction and coaching to Tool Crib Attendants.
- Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work plans in support of overall program objectives.
- Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
- Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, supported, and executed.
- Support professional development by cross training all crib attendants on entire SOW

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma/GED AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing/aerospace/design/tooling/tool engineering, manufacturing engineering, integration and/or fabrication industries/experience
- Must have 1+ year of prior management/leadership experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access
- Experience working with CribMaster or similar program
- Must be available to work any shift
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with tool kitting and crib inventory/management
- Firm understanding of Tooling and Factory Accountability requirements and process adherence
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and the ability to effectively communicate with various levels of leadership
- Experience presenting project performance to upper management and customers
- Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001
- Organizing and documenting tribal knowledge
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management System
- Ability to produce necessary reports and information of tooling upon request
- Implement data driven process improvements and capture/track cost savings
- Support digital transformation of STS
- Organizational and project management ability
- Oversee team and coordinate with other departments. Manage budget, schedules, and resource allocations of additional projects STS works
- Analytical thinking to troubleshoot issues with the tools and/or equipment
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Special Program Access
- Proficient with CribMaster or similar
- Leadership experience in aerospace or a related industry
- Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 or similar quality standard. Presenting RFQ to auditors
- Proficient in Earned Value Management System
- Certifications: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
Salary Range: $107,300.00 - $160,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
