Requirements
  • Prior teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree program is required for master's-prepared faculty at this rank.
  • Clinical expertise in the clinical specialty area of the teaching assignment is required.
  • NCCPA certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Guide student learning in classrooms and/or clinical settings.
  • Teach assigned courses for which qualified by education, certification, and professional experience.
  • Plan courses and curricula.
  • Provide didactic and clinical teaching.
  • Evaluate courses.
  • Advise students academically.
  • Supervise independent study projects.
  • Maintain weekly office hours.
  • Attend meetings.
  • Serve on committees.
  • Participate in special University events and ceremonies.
  • Engage in scholarship as defined in the Faculty/Staff Handbook.
  • Remain actively engaged in professional activities that enhance the faculty role.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master’s-level Physician Assistant degree is preferred.
  • Two years of full-time teaching experience in the specialty area with entry-level students or licensed practitioners is preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree program is strongly preferred for doctoral-prepared faculty at this rank.
