Serán BioScience is looking to fill the role of IT Support Specialist and join a dynamic team. The primary responsibilities of this role will support the technology needs of end users throughout the company. As a member of the IT Department, this position will provide solutions and user training for computer systems and software as well as installation and troubleshooting for diverse equipment and applications. The ideal candidate will have fundamental help desk experience with a customer service focus and collaborative team spirit.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate end user computer and related systems issues
- Analyze and test computer systems and programs
- Document, test, and configure computer applications and operating systems
- Assist IT management in designing, planning, and implementing technology solutions
- Hardware setup, troubleshooting, and moves
- User Administration
- Accurate and complete documentation and record keeping
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong task management skills
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems
- Firm grasp of IT operations best practices
- Knowledge of Windows imaging processes
- Understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 configuration and user management
- Understanding of network, virtual systems, data storage systems, and security
- Understanding of audio / visual systems and applications (Teams, Zoom)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Two years of related experience; or comparable combination of education, equivalent certifications and/or experience.
- Preference will be given to Relevant IT support industry certifications (CCNP, CompTIA, MCSA/MCSE, ITIL, CISSP, etc.)
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged periods of mobility between offices and campus buildings
- Able to periodically lift 25-45 pounds
