ABOUT THE JOB

The Research Associate is a permanent full-time role and will be responsible for the support of research and development activities requiring standard laboratory skills.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Read and understand all assigned QMS documents.

• Follow GLP guidelines in documenting all work.

• Follows work instructions and test protocols and properly document work forms as per Good Laboratory Practices. 

• May update documents and submit deviations and DCO’s. 

• Writes lab notebook experimental reports with minimal supervision. 

• Writes QMS test reports with supervision.

• Compile data and results then plan the next experiment with the guidance of a senior level team member.

• Plan and execute specific laboratory experiments with some guidance.

• Prepare and deliver presentations as needed.

• Is observant when running experiments. May be responsible for some troubleshooting.

• May be shadowed by new team members while conducting laboratory experiments as needed. 

• May provide data and/or present information to external partners.  Also, may participate in seminars and scientific conferences. 

• Keep work areas clean and organized.  Participate in laboratory decontamination efforts.

• Other duties as assigned

ON YOUR FIRST DAY WE’D LIKE YOU TO HAVE 

• B.S. required.

• Minimum 2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree. No experience required with a Master’s degree.

IT’S GREAT IF YOU HAVE

• Proficient in basic laboratory skills and the use of complex laboratory equipment such as thermocyclers.

UNIQUE ASPECTS OF THIS JOB

• Schedule:  This role is M-F, and it requires some coordination with the team in terms of when to come in (ex: usually it’s about 9 or 9:30am, sometimes it’s 8 or 10am).

• Physical aspects: Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and/or motions. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.

SALARY RANGE:

• $65,000 - $72,000 (Minimum to maximum salary range for candidates based in San Jose, CA)
• Compensation for the role is based on geographical location.
• Compensation also depends on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
