Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Two (2) years of experience providing counseling or advising services
  • Knowledge of best practices in counseling and mentoring students
  • Knowledge of academic programs and graduation requirements
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws
  • Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community
Responsibilities
  • Assist student-athletes in meeting their academic objectives
  • Oversee the implementation of academic plans
  • Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes assigned to Olympic sport programs
  • Participate in the recruitment, orientation, pre-registration, and enrollment of student-athletes
  • Act as a liaison to faculty, administrators, and coaches regarding student-athlete academic matters
  • Track and monitor academic progress
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Student Personnel, Education, or a related field
  • A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in post-secondary athletic academic services
  • Experience working with various components of the Teamworks software
  • Possessing a working knowledge of the NCAA's ongoing eligibility rules and regulations
