As a Principal Analyst, Advanced Analytics, you’ll partner closely with our Product, User Experience, Engineering, and Data teams to deliver actionable insights and analysis to optimize and inform the Product strategy. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, Product or strategy experience, and the ability to generate insights from large-scale data sets. This is a great opportunity to play a key role enabling the Product organization to become more data-driven.

What you’ll do:

• Leverage your significant Analytics expertise to identify strategic business questions and deliver actionable insights that drive Product strategy and decisions.

• Define useful analytical frameworks to answer sometimes ambiguous business questions; partner with Data Scientists, BI Analysts and Data Engineers as needed. Be hands-on with data, write queries or use other techniques to explore and summarize data. 

• Use storytelling techniques and best of class visualization skills to influence our stakeholders at all levels; present in virtual and in-person meetings, share async via video recordings.

• Build strong relationships across Product stakeholders, Data & Analytics colleagues and cross-functional partners. 

• Be or become an expert in our Procore Products and the Construction industry.

• Coach and mentor more junior Analysts on the team; share feedback on analytics approach, be a mentor in data visualization and storytelling, help elevate our analytics capabilities.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical and quantitative field, or equivalent work experience. 10+ years in a Product/Data Analytics role or similar, focus on influencing with insights. MBA and/or consulting experience is a huge plus.

• Self-starter with a proven track record driving meaningful decisions and business outcomes collaborating with Product Managers and other stakeholders.

• A creative and flexible thinker with significant experience deriving actionable business insights from complex data. Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to both general and senior audiences.

• Strong SQL skills. Experience with Tableau, or similar BI/Data Visualization tools. Preferred experience with Amplitude and other behavioral analytics tools (Mixpanel, Adobe Analytics etc.). 

• Knowledge of A/B, statistical significance testing methods and a broad set of analytics frameworks.

• Must be comfortable with an unstructured, fast moving, and constantly evolving high growth environment. Curious about what drives business trends; demonstrated capacity to learn, intellectual honesty and independent thinking.

This position can work remotely from any U.S location or based in our headquarters in Carpinteria, CA, or our Austin, TX office.
