Requirements
  • Meaningful IT support experience, typically 2–5 years, including some experience in a managed services provider or IT services environment, or experience that clearly exceeds Level 1 work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot most day-to-day issues independently and know when to ask for help.
  • Clear communication with clients and teammates, with consistent progress updates.
  • Strong documentation habits and ability to create clear notes for other technicians.
  • Ability to help newer technicians and answer their questions.
  • Organization and ability to manage a mixed workload without tasks slipping.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and basic Intune and Entra ID tasks.
  • Solid troubleshooting ability across Windows environments, Active Directory basics, and common connectivity issues.
  • Working understanding of LAN/WAN networking concepts sufficient to recognize and describe infrastructure issues for escalation.
  • Ability to pass a basic background check for airport security badging.
  • Valid driver's license or willingness to obtain one, and ability to drive.
Responsibilities
  • Independently resolve most ticket types efficiently and with minimal oversight, including intermediate-level issues involving Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
  • Recognize recurring issues and work to reduce them rather than resolving them one ticket at a time.
  • Prioritize workload appropriately against overall team demand.
  • Recognize infrastructure-related issues involving networks, firewalls, or servers and escalate them to Centralized Services or Level 3 with clear diagnostic detail.
  • Use artificial intelligence tools to accelerate troubleshooting, documentation, and client communication.
  • Evaluate basic business impact while troubleshooting and escalate at the appropriate time.
  • Document work consistently and clearly, and improve existing documentation.
  • Create knowledge base articles for recurring issues.
  • Identify process gaps and help close them with repeatable fixes.
  • Begin mentoring Level 1 technicians by answering questions, reviewing ticket notes, and modeling troubleshooting habits.
  • Communicate proactively with clients, teammates, and leadership during complex issues.
  • Provide proactive client updates throughout troubleshooting, not only at resolution.
  • Document work thoroughly so another technician can continue it seamlessly.
  • Handle difficult conversations professionally when a client is frustrated or a fix takes longer than expected.
  • Own tickets end-to-end and manage work in the context of team needs.
  • Support teammates during high-volume periods.
  • Apply feedback to produce consistent improvement.
  • Contribute positively to team culture and help set standards for good work.
  • Mentor junior technicians and invest in their development.
  • Work primarily on-site in Juneau or Anchorage and collaborate regularly with Level 1 and Level 3 technicians.
Desired Qualifications
  • Basic scripting and automation experience using PowerShell and Command Prompt.
  • Interest in progressing from Level 2 toward Level 3 technician responsibilities.
