Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in TSM administration.
  • Preferred 4 years of experience in Cobalt Iron administration.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in backup and recovery operations.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University; or 5 to 8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional backup services, prioritizing simplicity and enhancing the customer experience.
  • Administer TSM and Cobalt Iron in a mixed environment of Unix, Linux and Windows servers.
  • Build and deploy backup infrastructure, including managing backup repositories.
  • Demonstrate exceptional troubleshooting skills for backup, tape, and storage issues.
  • Proficiently manage critical issues within the backup infrastructure, liaising across multiple technical towers as appropriate.
  • Work independently and actively coach and develop peers, as well as participate in on-call rotations as required.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of TSM and Cobalt Iron, both through command line and GUI interfaces.
  • Drive appropriate engagement and response from key vendors to ensure service levels for this environment.
  • Adhere to established company processes, including change management, incident management, and problem management.
  • Utilize automation tools for efficient backup processes.
