Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in inspection and/or production.
  • At least 1 year of practical experience with microbiology method verification, routine testing practices, environmental monitoring, and basic knowledge of method and equipment validation principles.
  • At least 1 year of experience in food manufacturing; seafood or meat processing experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work around FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday and weekends when needed.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives.
  • Specific vision abilities are required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
  • Test seafood products and materials used during manufacturing to verify that products meet predefined criteria, applicable laws, and company standards.
  • Test products before production, in process, and at the final stage to ensure the final product is safe to release for sale or distribution.
  • Report quality-control findings to management.
  • Participate in the inspection and grading of Grade-A products.
  • Perform moisture analysis.
  • Produce written reports.
  • Verify the inventory, quality, and usability of products.
  • Serve as the primary contact between production staff and the Quality department for Quality, Food Safety, and Regulatory issues.
  • Complete assigned Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points compliance documents.
  • Conduct internal audits of the plant and paperwork in conjunction with the Quality Control Supervisor.
  • Test and record measurements of seafood product attributes.
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns urgently to Quality Assurance leadership.
  • Perform analytical and organoleptic quality inspections of fresh and frozen seafood products to ensure they are produced to specification standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
