Responsibilities
- Negotiates with internal and external stakeholders to eliminate roadblocks in executing against the sourcing strategy
- Directs and identifies sourcing and savings opportunities
- Oversees negotiations, manages contracts, and relationships with vendors
- Manages policies and metrics to ensure that savings goals are realized
- Oversees relationships with technical buyers, engineers and management to identify new product needs, identifies new sources in order to meet business requirements
- Responsible for quality control of vendor products
- Works in support of other business leaders and in conjunction with Supply Chain
- Drives consistency and standardization across sourcing engagements by leveraging best practices and tools to improve business outcomes
- Manages working sessions that promote collaboration, achieve synergy and desired outcomes
- Resolves conflict in a tactful manner
- Successfully facilitates meetings with remote participants leveraging available tools and technology
- Ensures completion of meeting follow-ups and negotiates win/win conversations
- Understand the terms of the strategic contracts in order to effectively navigate and manage the relationships
- Leads contract negotiations in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Effectively engages and builds effective working relationships with strategic suppliers
- Supports procurement in monitoring performance of suppliers and applies appropriate tools and techniques to ensure expected contractual outcomes
- Continuously works to improve the quality of service from our strategic suppliers, as well as, increasing the overall value of the service and satisfaction to our internal customers
- Experience in cloud, networking and IT sourcing required
- Need prior contract document writing experience in the technology industry
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain or procurement
- Has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, specifically statements of work
- Strong communication, change management and conflict resolution skills
- Effective in building and maintaining relationships between suppliers and business leaders
- Has the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and staff internally and externally
- Skilled in developing and managing service level agreements or performance measures with suppliers
- Strong risk management assessment skills
- Strategic thinker who is action-oriented, driven to succeed, and results-oriented
- Demonstrates financial acumen
- CPSM and business or IT related degree preferred
- Travel required up to 10% if based in Denver (25% if based in Chicago or SF)
