Requirements
  • Minimum 2–3+ years of hands-on experience in a large-scale distributed applications environment using Java Virtual Machine-based technologies.
  • Experience building RESTful services, designing application programming interfaces, and working with event-driven architectures such as Kafka and Amazon Simple Queue Service.
  • Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with on-call rotations, incident response, and monitoring or alerting tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, and Grafana.
  • Excellent written communication skills for effective artificial intelligence prompting and clear technical documentation.
  • Ability to critically evaluate artificial-intelligence-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Strong Java fundamentals, including the ability to architect, review, and debug code written by the candidate, teammates, or artificial intelligence agents.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working with artificial intelligence coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements gathering with Product Managers, technical design, estimation, sprint planning, coding, testing, deployments, and on-call support.
  • Design and implement real-time services with high-throughput and low-latency requirements, then verify, deploy, and operationalize them.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand customer needs and devise and deliver simple, robust, and scalable solutions.
  • Express technical thoughts and ideas as detailed prose to collaborate with leads, architects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Scale a complex distributed platform with globally distributed points of presence requiring high availability, high reliability, high throughput, low latency, and media fidelity.
  • Develop novel solutions to customer problems for the Voice channel.
  • Own, operate, and maintain team services in a distributed production environment using Agile methodologies to continuously deliver customer value.

  • Experience scaling data tiers using various SQL or NoSQL databases and caching technologies.

Twilio's Q2 revenue jumps 22% to $1.5B, stock surges 15.7%
