Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance (administration, correspondence, reporting, etc.) to the PA and Group Team Leaders.
  • Provide a full range of administrative services to your Section of approximately 130 people, including; organising Scientific Advisory Board meetings, workshops and other events
  • Coordinate local, national and international travel, arranging accommodation, flights, taxis and visa applications for both internal colleagues and external visitors to the institution.
  • Ensure that staff travel reimbursement claims are processed efficiently.
  • Reconcile the team’s credit card
  • Maintain organisation-wide systems and appropriate digital system for matters relating to the Section in which you work.
  • Process Section equipment and supplies orders, and reconciling section expenditure.
  • Other duties including coordinating and minuting meetings
  • Provide periodic PA cover to the Head of Section and other sections if needed/ holiday cover.

Boehringer Ingelheim Stiftung funds EMBL €7M

Boehringer Ingelheim Stiftung has committed €7 million to support the EMBL Imaging Centre in Heidelberg, enhancing its development of cutting-edge imaging technologies. This is the second funding round from BIS, following an initial €5 million in 2017. The funding will help recruit and maintain highly qualified staff, furthering the centre's role as a leading international hub for advanced microscopy technologies and training, having supported over 290 projects from 27 countries since mid-2021.
