Position Purpose:
Develop and manage customer-focused, data-driven, risk-based process controls in one of the engineering disciplines supporting manufacturing excellence: product (electrical / mechanical / material science), manufacturing, packaging, or industrial. Manage processes to ensure supplier and factory compliance with relevant requirements from Standard Operating Procedures, contracts, supplier buying agreements, and purchase orders. Enforce continuous improvement / corrective action / preventive action plan implementation throughout each process. Manage business area / engineering discipline to the metrics and reporting developed to monitor quality, service, cost, and risk components of each process. Develop, coach, and train associates to deliver results consistent with strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Standard Operating Procedures, reporting, metrics, and audit controls to support a data-driven system of risk and performance based criteria to manage suppliers, factories, and products to quality, cost, service, and risk goals. This work requires quantitative and qualitative analysis of people, processes, and data.
- Develop and manage functional responsibilities of service providers, foreign sourcing offices, and internal resources. This work involves the assessment, testing, and inspection of factories and products against standards of performance.
- Identify and implement best practices based on industry knowledge.
- Develop and deliver training (internally and externally), tailored to the needs of the specific audience.
- Define technical requirements associated with factory and product specifications.
- Review and resolve issues with suppliers, factories, service providers, merchandising, store operations, distribution, safety, customers, and other related supply chain components.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to Senior Manager, Quality Assurance
- Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups.
- Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
- Responsible for development of assigned direct reports, focusing on skill building, inspiration and engagement.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

- International operations experience, supported by foreign language skills (oral and written)
- Personnel management experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Executive communication skills (e.g., development and delivery of presentations)
- Computer skills sufficient to retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and interpret data
- Ability to travel internationally
