Senior Security Engineer

Responsibilities

At Workato, security is at the core of everything we do. We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer – IAM & SOAR Automation to join our growing Security team in India. This role will be instrumental in shaping Workato’s identity and access management strategy while driving security automation initiatives.

You’ll work at the intersection of security, automation, and access control, helping to streamline identity governance, secure cloud environments, and orchestrate security operations through automation. You’ll collaborate with Business Technology, Product & Engineering, and other teams to ensure that access is secure, efficient, and aligned with business needs.

Identity & Access Management (IAM)

• Design and enhance identity lifecycle management for employees, contractors, and service accounts.

• Implement RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), JIT (Just-in-Time) access, and least privilege models across SaaS and cloud environments.

• Automate joiner, mover, leaver (JML) processes and identity workflows using Workato and other automation tools.

• Manage SSO (Single Sign-On), MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication), and Conditional Access policies to strengthen authentication security.

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to identity-related security threats.

Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) & Tooling

• Design and develop security automation workflows using Workato and other security automation platforms.

• Automate threat detection, response, and remediation processes, reducing manual security operations workload.

• Integrate security tools such as SIEM, EDR, CASB, and IAM solutions to improve response time and visibility.

• Collaborate with security engineers and analysts to optimize security tooling and workflows.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Work

• Work closely with Business Technology, Security, and Product & Development teams to improve identity governance and compliance.

• Partner with Product & Engineering to enforce secure development and access policies in cloud and DevOps environments.

• Provide technical expertise during security audits, compliance assessments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.), and risk evaluations.

• Educate and train employees on IAM best practices and security automation initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

• 3–6 years of experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), Security Automation, or Security Operations in a SaaS or cloud-based environment.

• Experience with IAM frameworks, tools, and technologies (Okta, Azure AD, AWS IAM, Google Workspace, etc.).

• Strong understanding of RBAC, least privilege access, and identity governance workflows.

• Hands-on experience with security automation platforms (Workato, Palo Alto XSOAR, Splunk SOAR, etc.).

• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, or Workato recipes for security workflows).

• Experience integrating security tools (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, CASB, etc.) for automated threat response.

• May require occasional travel within India as well as International travel

• Experience working with Workato or other low-code/no-code automation platforms.

• Knowledge of cloud security best practices in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or other security compliance frameworks.

• Security certifications like CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, Okta Certified Administrator, or similar.
