  • An active Licensed Practical Nurse license is required.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse certification in intravenous therapy is required if required by the clinical area.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of patient care procedures and protocols is required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Interpersonal skills are required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools, and programs are required.
  • The ability to work in a team environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care by executing and administering treatments and procedures directed by the supervisor.
  • Report patient issues and concerns to the supervisor and other staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including charts, schedules, procedures, and medication or treatment history.
  • Educate patients and family members in accordance with the established plan of care.
  • Function in the expanded role of intravenous therapy in accordance with regulatory standards when required by the clinical area.
  • Serve on at least one nursing council, hospital or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or the work area, or demonstrate core standards of exceptional customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
