Requirements
  • At least 7+ years’ experience with a B.S. or at least 6+ years’ experience with an M.S. degree in electrical, mechanical, or related Engineering or physical science.
  • Successful track record in media deposition and/or semiconductor manufacturing equipment design, operations, installation, and sustaining experience.
  • Technical capability and hands-on experience with installation and machine troubleshooting for Thin Film (PVD/CVD) process equipment.
  • Direct experience on Canon Anelva sputter equipment or Intevac Lean sputter equipment highly preferred.
  • Experience in PLC, HMI, GOT, Mitsubishi GT Designer and GX Developer software highly desirable.
  • PC skills including MS Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • In-depth understanding and practice of equipment design and testing (or sustaining), operations, documentation, maintenance, and good understanding of HDD media or semiconductor manufacturing process technology and cleanroom requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and people skills.
Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the tool hardware design, equipment reconfiguration and install tasks.
  • Drive specification, technical negotiation with vendors, design and documentation, manpower resource coordination, configuration change, tool/hardware installation, qualification testing and tool/hardware buy-off.
  • Generate accurate and detailed documentation for technician, engineering, facility, maintenance, stores and process owners.
  • Provide accurate and detailed documentation as well as training for reconfiguration, expansion and installation of new and existing media deposition tools and hardware.
  • Monitor and follow through for continuous improvement opportunities across all shifts for both US based and offshore operations.
  • Review, analyze and investigate equipment related downtime and provide sound root cause analysis and timely effective corrective actions.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair down tool situations.
  • Provide verbal and written instructions to support teams upon request.
  • Respond to down tool escalation calls upon request by Development Engineering, Sustaining Equipment Engineering and Maintenance organizations.
  • Review and evaluate tool assembly, hardware and spare parts related inputs from Development Engineering, Sustaining Equipment Engineering and Maintenance organizations.
  • Consistently work on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
Desired Qualifications
  • SolidWorks/CAD and geometric tolerance experience are desired.
  • Travel will be required to support job function at offshore locations.
