Requirements
  • J.D. from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
  • Two years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Membership in good standing of the Wyoming Bar Association, or eligibility for admission to the Wyoming Bar within 12 months of employment.
  • A valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record compliant with the University Driving for University Business SAP.
  • Applicants must provide average hours worked per week for all current and previous positions for experience evaluation.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States; sponsorship for work authorization or work visas is not available.
Responsibilities
  • Draft, negotiate, and review terms and conditions with federal, state, and private entities on University sponsored project agreements.
  • Provide written and verbal communications with internal and external parties to support timely and accurate review, negotiation, and acceptance of agreements.
  • Provide customer service to campus users.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on sponsored project agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Office of General Counsel, Research and Economic Development Division, university department administrators, principal investigators, and Technology Transfer Office to answer questions, resolve issues, and interpret agreement provisions and terms.
  • Serve on committees and perform other duties assigned by the Office of General Counsel and Pre-Award Services Office.
  • Attend conferences and workshops applicable to research administration and legal updates and trends within contract administration.
Desired Qualifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Two years of translatable work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including contract negotiation or research or sponsored programs administration at an institution of higher education.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Certified Research Administrator, CRA, CPRA, or CFRA certification.
