Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience as a foreman or crew supervisor within a related industry and road construction projects.
  • Basic supervision experience.
  • Valid G driver's license and a good driving record, or willingness to acquire the license within a specified time.
  • Skill in operating company tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Fluency in reading, speaking, and writing English.
  • Proficient computer skills for data entry and timely day-to-day submissions.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to perform work while wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • Availability to work overtime during weekdays and weekends when required.
  • Availability for emergency response rotations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and control winter operations projects.
  • Complete quality inspections.
  • Supervise subcontractors and staff.
  • Provide supervision to the crew and communicate instructions.
  • Follow the outlined weekly work plan for the individual and work crews.
  • Create and verify accurate payroll records for workers.
  • Help create and verify accurate winter operations records.
  • Maintain communication with patrollers and supervisors regarding job status and assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain and supervise a clean jobsite free of tripping hazards and unnecessary obstacles.
  • Participate in the Performance and Development Review process.
  • Perform visual inspections on culverts, fencing, bridges, and other infrastructure as needed.
  • Backfill for the Patrol Supervisor.
  • Comply with Canadian and provincial legal requirements and company policies and procedures.
