  • An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • 5 years' experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 3 years' experience with a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; or 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II with Continuing Education (CE) or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) must start.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, Juniper routers and switches, Fortinet firewalls, and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience with WANs, encryption devices, VxLAN, multicast, BGP, OSPF, and Wireshark.
  • Familiarity with SIPRNet, MDACNet, or other DOD networks.
  • CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA, and Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications.
  • Understanding the project lifecycle, related processes, and traditional systems engineering skills.
  • Experience in reviewing work products produced by a team of engineers for quality, completeness, and adherence to established procedures and policies.
  • Design, implementation, and troubleshooting of networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of spanning tree, trunking, routing protocols, first hop redundancy protocols, and IP subnetting.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and execution of network engineering configuration changes and documentation in a complex IT environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, excellent customer interface skills, quick learner, and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while maintaining a can-do attitude.
Responsibilities
  • Produce designs, including system, logic, and connectivity drawings, as well as conduct testing of network designs.
  • Maintain technical expertise in diverse network and computer hardware and software areas, including interconnection and interfacing with various devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance the network's capabilities.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers and independently at times on large field projects.
  • Demonstrate proven troubleshooting skills.
