  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety Administration, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Management, Crisis Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or Associate two-year degree in aforementioned fields with 3 years of experience in emergency services or security operations dispatch.
  • Experience in a related field such as emergency services, security, crisis management, life-safety.
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office products, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel, is required.
  • Confidence and competence in making quick, informed decisions based on available information and established protocols.
  • Dedication to the job, with a commitment to reliability, punctuality, and maintaining high standards of performance.
  • Perform as a team player in an environment where every player is important in resolving issues/emergent situations.
  • Ability to remain composed and focused during emergency events.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to clearly and effectively convey information to emergency responders and callers.
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail to record information accurately, follow protocols and ensure no critical information or procedural steps have been missed.
  • Proficient in handling multiple tasks simultaneously, answering calls, dispatching personnel, and updating records.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess situations quickly and determine the best course of action.
  • Ability to provide emotional support and reassurance to callers in distress while maintaining professionalism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other dispatchers, emergency responders, Security, EHS and Facilities support staff.
  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to have a current or active Secret Clearance with an ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities
  • Access Control, CCTV, Lighting, video and audio recording systems, emergency notification system, fire and toxic gas monitoring systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, access control and intrusion detection systems, digital documentation, base radio communications, emergency and hazard phone lines and all other technologies deployed in the BSC.
  • Monitor, identify and mitigate risk to prevent life-safety and security related events.
  • Monitor systems alarm conditions, Security Officers, EHS and Facilities personnel, CCTV and emergency phone lines.
  • Emergency Notification System tests and messaging.
  • Response personnel to system alarms that report into the BSC.
  • Emergency Response Teams, Emergency Medical Services, Security Officers, Law Enforcement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities and prepare detailed reports for Security Management on all alarm conditions, associated actions taken, personnel who were dispatched and notified.
  • Create and maintain all documentation associated with training materials, standard work, and standard operating procedures.
  • Learn, develop and revise the electronic documentation tool for alignment with standard work and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform system analysis working in close coordination with system owners to define hardware failures, high frequency alarm conditions and, if known, associated cause.
  • Monitor support personnel performance providing guidance, training, and instruction.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are understood and documented for consistent performance amongst operators through standard work for monitoring and dispatching of emergency phone lines, regulatory, security, life safety and facilities systems.
  • Ensure all Operators are trained, tested, and receive continuing education and mentoring to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, standard operating procedures and standard work.
  • Foster a positive and compliant culture within the team.
  • Coordinate regulatory and company required system testing with responsible personnel.
  • Provide investigation support as requested by the Security Director.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

  • CCTV and Lenel OnGuard system experience
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training Program and the Incident Command Structure (ICS-100 and ICS-200)
  • Familiarity with dispatch software, communication systems and other relevant technologies used in the monitoring, dispatch and documentation of emergencies.
