What you’ll do at Avant
Lead the development and implementation of customer identity proofing, customer authentication, and risk based access controls at Avant. This role is responsible for ensuring a secure and seamless experience for customers from initial enrollment through the entire lifecycle of an account from account opening to management.
Supervise a team of product professionals and jointly manage the agile development process alongside dedicated engineering teams.
Oversee the effectiveness of Avant’s Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) framework, which supports a multi-product offering through a centralized customer data platform. This includes unified authentication and risk-based access control (RBAC) across Avant’s web dashboard and mobile applications.
Build reporting dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of control systems. Partner with fraud analytics to adjust control settings based on identified vulnerabilities
Assist in the development and implementation of a centralized identity management service for storing and retrieving customer information
Establish and manage third party vendor relationships.
Develop strategic plans and roadmaps for digital identity solutions and the integration of Avant’s CIAM services, focusing on identity proofing and access management across the organization.
Define Avant’s strategy for account recovery and ensuring account uniqueness.
Manage the documentation and execution of business cases, including the analysis of options and the projection of returns on investment.
Why you’re a fit at Avant
Bachelor’s degree +7 years experience with track record of leading product development and strategic initiatives in digital identity or related
Proven track record of leading product development and strategic initiatives in digital identity or related fields.
Preferred experience in digital identity and authentication within a regulated industry, preferably financial services.
Strong understanding of NIST guidelines, cybersecurity best practices, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to make decisions based on comprehensive data analysis.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
This role is based on our downtown Chicago Office, located in the Merchandise Mart. We highly value collaboration and our hybrid schedule (M, T, Th in-office) enables flexibility to balance work and individual priorities.
Compensation Range:
The base salary range for this job is USD $135,000 - USD $175,000 / Year
Employees new to Avant typically come in below the midpoint of the pay range. The compensation range is based on the level outlined in the job posting, and compensation decisions are dependent on each applicant’s experience, skills and abilities.

This role is eligible for additional incentives, including an annual bonus. These rewards are allocated based on level, impact and performance in the role.
