Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Two years of experience in a customer-facing role is required.
  • General computer literacy is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.
  • The ability to diagnose and solve technical problems and provide support during the sales process is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English is required.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills are required.
  • The ability to research mating connectors, obtain pricing and schedules for customer-specific qualification testing, and locate and develop sources of supply is required.
  • Understanding of financial principles, including pricing and cost analysis, is required.
  • The ability to create well-structured, accurate quotes and present them clearly and professionally to customers is required.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Own assigned customer communications, including requests for quotes, requests for additional documents, pertinent technical questions, requests for quote extensions, and related follow-up.
  • Provide customers with advice and support regarding substitute components.
  • Provide concise options for faster delivery and lower pricing.
  • Explain pricing increases that exceed standard inflationary rates and explain adder charges related to excess material, non-recurring engineering, First Article Inspection Reports, Source Inspection, and related items.
  • Follow up on expired quotes to obtain feedback about why they were lost.
  • Develop Bills of Material and Routers containing labor estimates to develop estimated costs, apply appropriate margins, and determine sales prices.
  • Make decisions about additional charges for excess material left over from supplier minimum order requirements, special tooling, test mates for test harnesses, development of manufacturing aids such as build boards, and related expenses.
  • Determine delivery schedules by considering component lead times, engineering requirements, transit times, and shop labor availability.
  • Develop professional quotes, including notes specific and necessary for the quoted items, using the company enterprise resource planning system and the customer's requested quoting system when required.
  • Provide pre-sales support by identifying apparent drawing conflicts and offering solutions when prudent.
  • Research, identify, and communicate special tooling, test mates, acceptable alternate materials, specification requirements, and other miscellaneous items to Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Review customer requirements and ensure they are supported by the customer's product lines and meet company competencies.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in the interconnect industry is preferred.
