Requirements
- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing.
- A current license in good standing in New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- The ability to provide clinically sound and compassionate care to residents.
- The ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate customer service and organizational skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and harmoniously with all staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to unit leadership and respond appropriately and promptly to resident and family needs within the Licensed Practical Nurse scope of practice.
- Use the nursing process, clinical judgment, and nursing skills to set priorities, deliver quality direct resident care, and make decisions that promote resident safety and care quality.
- Perform and administer standard nursing treatments and medications, and observe residents for desired or unwanted effects.
- Communicate and collaborate with appropriate care-team members to revise or update the nursing care plan and report pertinent findings, including laboratory and test results, incidents, and concerns.
- Monitor and document vital signs, treatments administered, and residents' responses.
- Prepare, organize, oversee, monitor, and evaluate the delivery of care for resident Certified Nursing Assistant assignments and activities, considering resident needs and personnel competency.
