Responsibilities:

• Ingest, transform, and analyze data using SAS, Python, or R.
• Develop and apply sample weighting and risk-adjustment methods.
• Produce summary data reports and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint.
• Support the development of detailed data reports.
• Support ad-hoc analyses and studies to identify trends across time and sample populations.
• Perform data quality assessments to identify anomalies, determine potential causes of anomalies, and suggest remedial actions.
• Support the validation and enhancement of data abstraction processes, algorithms, and measures.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

• Recognized expert in the field.  
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or other related scientific or technical discipline. With eight years of general information technology experience and at least four years of specialized experience, a degree is not required. 
• At least 10 years’ experience in statistical programming, data analysis, data interpretation, and writing manuscripts.  
• At least 5 years’ experience in directing other analysts in designing and writing statistical coding that is required for all data analysis tasks, and proficiency in SAS or other similar statistical software(s).  
• At least 5 years’ experience in providing statistical consultation in patient safety research.  
• Demonstrated publication records to reflect the principal statistician’s ability to serve as primary author in patient safety research.  
• Demonstrated ability to design and write special analysis programs.
