Requirements
  • Working on a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • Candidates should have previous experience installing and troubleshooting computer hardware and software components.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and standard office technologies is required.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail is required.
  • The candidate must be willing and able to provide consistent customer service.
  • The candidate must be prompt and reliable in following scheduled hours.
  • The candidate must be willing to protect the integrity of Liberty University's IT systems and follow necessary security policies.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain job-specific certifications, including Vendor Hardware Repair certifications for Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Apple, and CompTIA ITF+ or A+.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain LU-approved driver certification, if required, and maintain the stated driver's license, driving-history, and clean-record qualifications.
  • The candidate must understand, speak, read, and write English for professional correspondence and collaboration.
  • The candidate must have organizational, analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and judgment skills.
  • The candidate must be able to perform desk-based computer use and data entry and communicate effectively in meetings and collaborative settings.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the assigned department with technical issues and complete tasks assigned by leadership.
  • Assist the team in streamlining business processes using current or new technology.
  • Document business processes, review inefficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement to the supervisor.
  • Learn University systems and data sets to accurately extract information.
  • Receive, prioritize, document, and resolve end-user computer-related help requests.
  • Maintain repair metrics at the required level.
  • Audit the workflow of repair computers and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Enforce HelpDesk standards and procedures.
  • Follow internal documentation and knowledge-base articles.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware and software.
  • Coordinate with other IT departments to ensure reported issues are resolved.
  • Use the help-request system to document work and customer interactions.
