Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic dimensional measuring and learn precision measurement tools.
  • Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.

  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery, noise, airborne particles, fumes, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, and frequent bending and stooping.
Responsibilities
  • Examine metal surfaces by sight and touch to detect dents, scratches, breaks, and other defects.
  • Remove dents with a hammer and dolly block and fill uneven surfaces with molten solder.
  • Smooth metal surfaces to specified finishes using hand tools and powered tools.
  • Polish metal surfaces using powered polishing wheels or belts when required.
  • Examine finished work pieces with gauges and inspection documentation to verify conformance with specifications.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
  • Operate or work with welders, lifts, robots, cranes, and related production equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
