About the Role:
Sezzle’s Finance department, located in Minneapolis, MN, is offering a paid internship that will provide a student with relevant skills and experience in a variety of financial and sustainability reporting functions. The intern will assist with the preparation, review, and design of internal and external reports such as SEC filings, Board of Director presentations, and sustainability reports. The ideal candidate will have completed at least foundational financial and managerial accounting courses and be interested in gaining exposure to financial and sustainability reporting. The candidate will also be task-oriented, able to prioritize projects based on team needs, and able to work independently while maintaining a direct line to their manager, as most workdays will be remote, with a requirement to come into the office in Minneapolis one day per week with the Finance team.

Key Role Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of our SEC filings, including our quarterly and annual reports
- Help prepare and design monthly internal financial reports to be delivered to our Board of Directors
- Learn about Sezzle’s business, with a focus on financial and sustainability processes
- Work closely with the Financial Reporting Manager to develop our year-end sustainability report
- Work with other departments to gather documentation and gain exposure to our internal controls over sustainability reporting for our B Corporation audit
- Support the overall finance and reporting functions with ad-hoc projects, as needed
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited local university, with a major in a business-related field. Junior or senior preferred, with a current GPA of 3.0 or above
- Completed or enrolled in Introduction to Financial Reporting and Strategic Management Accounting (or equivalent foundational financial and managerial accounting courses)
- Must be able to work no less than 25 hours per week during the summer and 15 hours per week during the academic school year
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Must be able to commute to office in Minneapolis, MN once a week.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- An understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statements
- An interest in sustainability accounting and reporting
- Ability to come into the office one day per week with the rest of the Finance team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely
- A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality

The compensation range for the role is $18-$20/hr. Our ranges are very broad to accommodate all types of candidates and encourage growth. Specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, and alignment with market data. Exceptional candidates may receive salaries outside of the posted ranges.
