Your Impact
As a Development Operations Engineer on our Body-Worn Camera team, you will make a direct impact towards our missions of capturing truth and never missing a critical moment. From our in-market cameras to our upcoming products, you will build out a process and portfolio for how we manage development and release cycles on body-worn cameras. your work and collaboration will span across many teams, from engineering, to quality, to customer-facing, allowing you the chance to have a broad reach across the company. We are looking for an experienced Dev Ops, Release, or Program Manager who has a track record of executing and coordinating complex software deliverables across multiple teams and job roles. Sitting at the middle of product, engineering, and quality you should love to build relationships across a wide variety of personalities, while driving the operational aspects of our software releases. You will use your technical expertise and detail-oriented mindset to help identify cross team dependencies, track progress, identify blockers, and ultimately launch software of the upmost quality.
What You’ll Do
Location: US Remote OR Onsite at our Seattle WA Office
Reports to: Software Engineering Manager

- Coordinating across product managers, engineering, and quality to set and drive all major software release deliverables and make the entire organization more effective and data-driven.
- Collaborating with the software program manager to ensure all deliverables are aligned and accomplished for our key program milestones.
- Collaborating with Engineering and QA managers to define the engineering requirements including code commit requirements, change management tracking, testing, telemetry and detailed release process requirements to ensure timely, high quality software releases.
- Identify and track all major roadblocks and risks to our release and roadmap plans, while reporting this information up and out to the broader organization.
- Create and monitor dashboards maintaining a birds’ eye view of the products’ quality in field during and after releases as a whole.
- Revolutionize our software release management processes for body-worn cameras, leading the effort to not only tactically push updates to the field but also strategically on best practices and methodologies to do so at scale and with the highest quality bar.
- Leading by example with thoroughness, detail, and care for our customers.
- Communicating regularly and effectively with our teams in Seattle, Scottsdale, Vietnam and Finland.
What You Bring
- 5+ years work experience as a manager with proven ability to ship complex software at scale. Preference towards enterprise SaaS or embedded devices.
- High degree of competency and proven success with project management including: Agile methodology, identifying and managing risks, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communicating overall project status.
- Strong familiarity or experience with Software Engineering and QA processes and best practices
- You are able to identify dependencies, mitigate risks and meet deliverables through global cross-functional teams
- Experience collaborating and working closely with remote and offshore team members.
- Can create, read and understand detailed process and software architectural documentation.
- You are able to learn quickly and get passionate about the underserved and unique needs of public safety.
- You resonate with Axon’s Values and believe technology can be applied to tackle public safety’s biggest challenges.
- You not only can accept critical feedback - you thrive off of it and can effectively communicate it to your peers as well.
- Familiarity and experience leveraging tools to support software release and post release monitoring.
- CI-CD tools like Jenkins, Team City, Github Actions
- Metric and log analysis tools like Splunk, Grafana, ELK
- Issue and project tracking tools like JIRA or Project
- Operational alerting tools like OpsGenie

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 110,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 210,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 160,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 300,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
