  • The role may require lifting ten or more pounds, frequent sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, and repetitive movement.
  • The role may involve mild to moderate or louder noise, weather exposure, variable temperatures, and work in classroom, office, gymnasium, or outdoor facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support the Marching Band, Color Guard, Winter Guard, and Spring Color Guard activities while mentoring students and ensuring safe, organized events and meetings.
  • Regularly clean, maintain, and perform minor repairs on Color Guard equipment.
  • Provide specialized movement instruction during practices, camps, and performances for new and returning members from July through May.
  • Design, plan, and implement the Marching Field Show.
  • Collaborate with the director to coordinate the visual package, including costume and prop design.
  • Teach and coordinate dance, flags, rifles, and sabres.
  • Write and teach Color Guard routines.
  • Attend, teach, and assist during regular school-day Color Guard rehearsals from January through May.
  • Rehearse Color Guard students during the three-week Marching Camp in July.
  • Rehearse Color Guard students after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from August through December, and on Saturdays during the fall season.
  • Attend performances, including home football games, competitions, festivals, and parades.
  • Work with the Band Parent Organization to transport Color Guard equipment and props to and from events.
  • Attend weekly daytime rehearsals during the first and second semesters to rehearse and assist Color classes.
  • Rehearse and prepare Color Guard students for Winter and Spring Dance Concerts.
  • Assist in recruiting and team-building for current and future Color Guard sections.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
