Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Manage large-scale and complex projects or initiatives from initiation through delivery, ensuring completion on time, with quality, and within budget.
  • Design, communicate, and implement operational project plans, and monitor progress and performance against them.
  • Identify, resolve, or escalate issues to minimize delays.
  • Facilitate analysis of project requirements and identify cost estimates, resources, and time required for completion.
  • Act as a liaison with organizational areas to secure specialized resources and project contributions.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare regular status reports for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets and milestones.
  • Manage projects across multiple business segments, corporate shared services, enterprise functions, and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Work with internal functional areas and external stakeholders to deliver new products or solutions.
  • Provide status updates to senior and executive leadership and escalate issues requiring their attention.
  • Manage projects involving complex application customizations, new functionality modules, framework enhancements, new solutions, or solutions in new countries or locations.
  • Manage and monitor project time, scope, cost, budgets, billing, and financial performance.
  • Anticipate issues, solve most issues, and escalate matters to senior or executive leadership when necessary.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders to resolve issues, manage scope changes, conduct feasibility analyses, and perform conflict resolution.
  • Gather project sizing information, ensure accurate project estimates and timely billing, and deploy action plans for negative budget variances.
  • Complete and review monthly project reports and provide budget feedback and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to increase project revenue through value-added services and reduce delivery costs by optimizing team productivity.
  • Contribute to annual budget forecasting and support quarterly reforecasting.
  • Make decisions outside established processes and methodologies when they affect project delivery.
  • Influence project-team decisions and mentor less experienced project managers and team members.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, and Finance on budgeting, contractual responsibilities, and related impacts.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced project managers in creating and managing project plans.

A $22 billion acquisition is a tough act to follow. But TSYS-parent Global Payments is betting big on its $600 million synergy target as it pushes forward with the $22.7 billion acquisition of Worldpay, a move that is expected to shake up the competitive dynamics in merchant services and payments technology. The acquisition, announced in April and expected to close in the first half of 2026, will see Global Payments divest its Issuer Solutions business to FIS for $13.5 billion, sharpening its focus as a pure-play merchant solutions provider. The combined entity will serve more than 6 million customers in 175 countries, processing $3.7 trillion in annual payment volume and 94 billion transactions — a scale that positions the company among the world’s largest payment processors. Central to the strategic rationale is an ambitious plan to realize $600 million in annual run-rate cost synergies within three years of closing.
