POSITION OVERVIEW:
The mascot handler plays an important role with our mascots, Wally and his younger sister Tessie! It will be the handler’s responsibility to ensure that Wally and Tessie are kept safe and are directed throughout the event or game. . Handlers are Wally and Tessie’s eyes and ears and they ensure the fans leave with a positive experience with their favorite mascots!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accompanying the mascots to the break area and maintain their schedule of events.
- Helps fans with photos, videos, autographs and help to speak for the mascots
- Ensure safety and accountability of Mascot performer during events and games.
- Help Set up / Break down Wally’s VIP Meet and Greet when necessary.
- Take photos/videos during games and events for Mascot Content and Social Channels.
- Take photos/videos for fans with their cameras when they meet the mascots
- Help with the up-keep and cleanliness of Costumes and accessories.
- Embody a positive brand ambassador and represent the Red Sox/FSM and our partners in a professional manner at all times
CHARACTERISITICS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to interact with and entertain a crowd of all ages
- General knowledge of baseball and the Red Sox
- Having previous experience with Mascots is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours with night and weekend availability
