Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of experience working in a fast-paced professional creative production studio or agency.
  • Proficient in a variety of mediums and methods to convey ideas and concepts (e.g. storytelling, storyboards, mood boards, concept treatments, mock-ups etc.).
  • Work across a range of specific styles, including a style set by the art director.
  • Demonstrated and extensive visual design software proficiency (Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, Keynote, PowerPoint, Miro, Figma, Illustrator, etc.).
  • 3D modelling, 3D Design and Animation a plus (Blender, C4D, 3DSM, Houdini).
  • Experience in storytelling and concept development with a strong design background; understanding of typography, graphics, layout, form, color and spatialization; well versed in design process and production methods.
  • A knack for capturing the spirit of a concept in presentation design format.
  • Able to communicate the thinking behind your design process, suggest creative solutions for production methods to remain agile and efficient.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of emerging creative technologies, best practices and experimental approaches in design, marketing and brand communications.
  • Is a self-starter, detail-oriented with highly developed organizational skills for proper workflow and process management, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and under short deadlines, able to work in varying degrees of fidelity, from sketching through production (speed vs quality).
  • Requires occasional travel.
Responsibilities
  • Take direction from Creative Director and/or Art Director in the design and execution of original, scalable animated and experiential content across the spectrum of vision, storytelling, and concepting.
  • Develop and design a dynamic, multi-platform brand identity system for Sphere across environmental, web, print, mobile, merchandise etc.
  • Design experiential thinking across a variety of projects from Sphere brand to original Sphere IP, Art and Promo content to brand marketing partnerships.
  • Design, sketch, illustrate concepts and ideas with a high level of visual storytelling.
  • Develop storyboards, animatics and production-ready motion designs.
  • Collaborate with project teams in research, ideation and development of original, scalable concepts and immersive experiences for various media including brand identity, motion graphics, screens, installations, and digital innovations.
  • Research and prepare creative pitch decks to communicate ideas to art directors, creative directors, stakeholders and clients, including design proposals, concept pitches and vision presentations.
  • Identify emerging trends in culture from the worlds of design, art, film and music.
  • Ensure that all work meets a high level of creativity, innovation and brand building.
  • Receive and discuss feedback on design with an open mind; be nimble, and able to rapidly pivot.
