Summary:
The Project Controls Specialist provides technical assistance to the Engineering Department in support of development projects and reports to the VP of Engineering. Primary duties include financial forecasting, budgeting, project reporting, presentations, and support of document management. This position can be located in Denver, CO or Houston, TX
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project management and accounting on cost estimating, budgeting, reporting, and forecasting.
- Prepare monthly summary progress reports for senior management.
- Prepare technical presentations for engineering projects and monthly meetings
- Support project managers with preparation of reports and schedules
- Analyze historical project costs and metrics to identify trends and statistics
- Maintain engineering templates and tools
- Support management of engineering and construction documents
- Maintain and update safety database and reporting metrics
- Support pipeline hydraulic analysis, data management and reporting
- Support maintenance and update of Engineering Technical standards library
- Write and maintain document control procedures
- Track and flag documents with recurring obligations, expiration dates, execution requirements and communicate deliverables or time sensitive information to internal employees
- Manage integrations with other systems such as document links, feeds, DocuSign, and other workflow systems
- Troubleshoot issues and provide support to project teams including system training for both Desktop and Mobile interfaces, including drafting easy to follow user instructions
- Conduct regular audits of files for appropriate retention standards
Requirements:
- 2-year degree or technical training in business, project management, economics, finance, or accounting
- 4-6 years of industry experience
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Skilled in utilizing web and desktop software systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to quickly learn new skills and solve problems
- Self-motivated, with acute attention to detail and can complete assignments with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience in pipeline, midstream or oil & gas industry is a plus
- Additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of formal degree
