Singularity Defense designs and manufactures affordable, scalable air defense systems. It focuses on ground-launched missile interceptors and handles in-house design, development, and production of all subsystems, using commercial components and an automotive-style assembly process to enable rapid, high-volume manufacturing. The interceptors are designed to detect, track, and intercept incoming drones and missiles to protect military assets and personnel. The company differentiates itself by tightly controlling subsystems, avoiding traditional defense supply chain bottlenecks, and scaling production quickly through a repeatable manufacturing line, backed by frequent flight tests. Its goal is to provide capable, cost-effective defense against inexpensive aerial threats and to secure U.S. government contracts and funding for broader defense adoption.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • July 2026 stealth exit and $400 million valuation signal strong investor conviction.
  • Open roles for propulsion, fire control, and facilities show aggressive production scaling.
  • Ukrainian battlefield demand keeps pressure on allies to buy low-cost interceptors now.

What critics are saying

  • RTX, Lockheed Martin, and Anduril already dominate air defense procurement and integration.
  • No public contract awards exist yet, so revenue depends on winning Pentagon programs fast.
  • If interceptor economics fail versus cheap drones, Singularity becomes an expensive demo shop.

What makes Singularity Defense unique

  • July 14, 2026, Singularity raised $80 million led by Khosla Ventures and Felicis.
  • Its El Segundo and Gardena team builds interceptors in-house, controlling subsystems and sourcing commercial parts.
  • Frequent flight tests and automotive-style manufacturing target faster iteration than traditional defense primes.
