Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
  • The candidate must be able to pass a background check.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry, are required.
  • The candidate must have organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently, follow established procedures, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Preferred experience includes customer service, office support, transportation, logistics, or fleet operations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, or scheduling software is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle care and preventive maintenance is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate reservations for the NRES Research Truck and NRES Field Trip Vans.
  • Check vehicles in and out before and after each reservation by documenting mileage, fuel level, cleanliness, and maintenance or damage concerns.
  • Prepare vehicles for use by fueling, cleaning, and performing basic safety inspections.
  • Drive department vehicles as needed for fueling, routine maintenance, inspections, and repair appointments.
  • Maintain accurate fleet records, including mileage, maintenance, repairs, registrations, and vehicle usage through data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Monitor routine maintenance schedules and notify the supervisor when service is needed.
  • Assist with tracking authorized drivers, defensive driving certifications, and vehicle usage charges.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to faculty, staff, and students using department vehicles.
  • Assist with other department operations and assigned duties.
