As an Expedia Group Legal & Corporate Affairs (ELCA) Intern, you’ll work on meaningful projects that innovate travel, and be a part of a supportive culture of inclusivity and impact.
What You’ll do:
By joining as an Expedia Legal and Corporate Affairs (ELCA) Intern you’ll have the opportunity to choose at least 3 rotation practice areas (examples of practice areas include commercial contracts, privacy, advertising law, regulatory, litigation) and gain a well-rounded experience from our in-house lawyers and paralegals who support all legal aspects at Expedia Group globally. We are looking for candidates who are curious and keen to learn how to work in a fast-paced travel technology company and discover the various roles in-house lawyers play.
You’ll work with an ELCA member on projects to gain greater understanding of the legal concerns in your chosen area.
You will work on a variety of matters, which may include:
- Analysing current industry issues and participating in analysis of issues with stakeholders
- Learning about and engaging in review of legal advice in your chosen practice areas, which can include review of contractual issues and formulating a legal risk assessment
- Supporting pre-litigation and minor litigation matters
- Analysing and presenting on an area of law to ELCA members and/or stakeholders
- Creating guidelines on various areas of law for ELCA members and/or stakeholders
- Engaging with the global ELCA team providing you with international experience
Who You Are:

- Must have completed your 1L year of law school and be enrolled in your 2L year of law school by the time the internship begins
- Must be willing to relocate to city of job location if outside commuting distance
- Helpful to have effective communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of partners (e.g., internal, external, technical, non-technical people)
- Helpful to have writing and comprehension skills to synthesize and condense large amounts of information in a concise and structured way
- Helpful to have a passion for law and its impact on technology
- Helpful to show an understanding of trends in travel and technology, and challenges that technology platforms can face
