Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in Transportation, Supply Chain, Distribution, or Business Analysis
  • Intermediate knowledge of freight movement via multiple modes: LTL, Intermodal, Truckload, and Domestic Air
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, creating/customizing pivot tables and charts to analyze data, writing IF statements, conditional formatting)
  • Beginner level skill in Microsoft Access (for example: designing and creating simple databases, tables, and queries, entering & modifying data)
Responsibilities
  • Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for savings for internal divisions, carrier review meetings, and operations leadership presentations.
  • Monitor compliance to forecasted transportation cost targets and service levels through monitoring mode and carrier use on inbound transportation lanes and market changes affecting cost or service levels.
  • Forecast demand patterns and transport volumes based on historic and projected freight volumes to ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Design and implement logistics strategies to improve inbound transportation processes, such as conducting researching to find the best suppliers and assist with carrier pricing negotiations, as required.
  • Collaborate with vendors, carriers, and Medline plants/distribution centers to resolve any transportation issues, ensure compliance with Medline’s inbound routing guides, identify opportunities to improve processes to reduce cost and increase service levels.
  • Develop and maintain reports on transportation performance metrics, and environmental impact of transportation activities to present to department leadership.
  • Utilize a Transportation Management System to track and monitor transportation activities.

  • Ability to read and manipulate data on pre-built Tableau and Microsoft Power BI dashboards
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems to track and monitor transportation activities
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with vendors, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams
