Requirements
  • A minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, infection prevention, risk management, or ambulatory care operations.
  • A minimum of two years of quality assurance and/or quality improvement experience.
  • A current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of residence and/or practice location.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, risk reduction strategies, and evidence-based clinical practice.
  • A strong understanding of healthcare regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, infection prevention standards, and ambulatory care best practices.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and organizational leadership.
  • Strong critical thinking, investigation, and decision-making abilities.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage competing demands, and execute corrective action plans.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in the Quality and Safety Committee, including agenda development, facilitation, documentation, and follow-up on action plans.
  • Monitor quality and safety performance metrics, analyze data, and identify trends and risks to drive measurable improvements in operational performance and patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and standards aligned with evidence-based practices and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Promote and monitor adherence to organizational policies and professional standards.
  • Conduct and support annual Practice Health and Safety Assessments, evaluating clinical operations, emergency preparedness, medical equipment management, documentation, environmental safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain awareness of clinical quality performance reports for value-based and payer quality programs to identify opportunities for follow-up, escalation, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and partner to physicians, practice managers, and operational teams by providing guidance, facilitating communication, and supporting practice-led quality improvement efforts.
  • Lead infection prevention, surveillance, and control activities in accordance with evidence-based guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan and lead or participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration workplace initiatives, including exposure prevention, post-exposure management, vaccinations, screening programs, and workplace injury management.
  • Oversee variance and event reporting processes, including leading investigations and developing corrective actions to ensure accurate and timely documentation within designated reporting systems.
  • Support the practice manager in monitoring completion of required clinical, safety, and regulatory education for teammates.
  • Identify educational and competency gaps through assessments, audits, incident investigations, and performance data.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with value-based care programs, quality reporting, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • A bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related healthcare field.
  • Certification in Healthcare Quality, Infection Prevention, Patient Safety, Risk Management, or a related specialty.
  • Experience communicating effectively and concisely, verbally and in writing, with individuals and groups at various levels and disciplines, including the senior executive team.
