Deal Solidifies Curaleaf's Strategic Advantage in Germany as the Country Prepares for Adult-Use WAKEFIELD, Mass., Sept. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Curaleaf Holdings, Inc. (CSE: CURA) (OTCQX: CURLF)...
Curaleaf Holdings has expanded its retail presence with new dispensaries in Lorain, Ohio and Cape Coral, Florida, whilst launching its Select Briq 2 vape device across US medical and adult-use markets. The company has also extended its executive automatic securities disposition plan. The developments come as the FDA adopts a softer stance on certain CBD regulations, potentially reshaping Curaleaf's international expansion strategy. The Select Briq 2 launch represents a push towards differentiated hardware and branded products aimed at higher margins. However, the cannabis company faces ongoing challenges including sustained price compression, high operating costs and US$500 million in debt. Analysts project US$1.5 billion revenue and a swing to positive earnings by 2028, though significant uncertainty remains around regulatory developments and pricing pressures.
Curaleaf Holdings has opened a new branded dispensary in Lorain, Ohio, marking its 164th retail location nationwide. The company provides support services to current owner and operator RC Retail, with future rights to ownership pending regulatory approval. Located at 2507 West Erie Avenue, the dispensary serves both medical patients and adult-use customers. It stocks premium cannabis products including Select BRIQ vapes, Find flower and Grassroots flower. The store operates Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 20:00, and Sundays from 9:00 to 19:00. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for 10 April, featuring discounts through 20 April. Curaleaf now operates six locations in Ohio, including stores in Cuyahoga Falls, Findlay, Girard, Lima and Newark.
Curaleaf Holdings closed at CA$2.98, down 6% over the past week and 12% over the past month, despite a one-year total return of 110%. The cannabis company's shares have declined 21% over three months. The most popular valuation narrative suggests Curaleaf is 39.2% undervalued, with a fair value estimate of CA$4.90. The company is expanding internationally, showing strong sequential and yearly growth in Germany and entering Turkey's 87-million-person market. It recently launched the first medically certified EU device. Analysts believe international expansion will diversify revenue streams beyond the saturated US market and drive long-term growth. However, investors face risks including regulatory uncertainty and costs associated with entering early-stage international markets.
Curaleaf Holdings has opened its fifth dispensary in Ohio, located in Findlay at 2205 Tiffin Avenue, bringing its nationwide retail count to 162 locations. The store will serve both medical patients and adult-use customers across Northwest Ohio. The dispensary offers a range of cannabis products including Select BRIQ all-in-one vape, Find and Grassroots flower. Located in a retail and dining hub, Curaleaf Findlay operates from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sundays. Curaleaf currently operates Ohio locations in Cuyahoga Falls, Findlay, Girard, Lima and Newark. The company is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol CURA and trades on the OTCQX market under CURLF.
