About the Role
Redhorse Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Intellectual Property Policy Expert to join a dedicated team supporting the Department of Defense’s Acquisition Policy & Innovation (API) Directorate within the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). This critical role directly impacts the delivery of timely and innovative warfighting capabilities to our nation’s Armed Forces. You will be instrumental in shaping acquisition policies and business practices governing over $2 trillion in capabilities across various acquisition pathways. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to national security by leveraging your expertise in intellectual property law and policy within a high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, monitor, and update acquisition policies and business practices related to intellectual property.
- Advise and consult on complex technical or programmatic issues related to intellectual property within complex weapons systems.
- Analyze and negotiate intellectual property rights for the government or government contractors.
- Support DoD organizations regarding intellectual property rights.
- Deliver professional briefings to Flag Officers, General Officers, and members of the Senior Executive Service.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on intellectual property matters to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of IP policies, guides, regulations, or handbooks.
Required Experience/Clearance
- Executive level technical experience with 7 years or more of relevant experience.
- Master’s Degree or higher in a related field, equivalent experience/certification, or substantial equivalent occupational experience.
- Two years of experience using Microsoft Office™.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Desired Experience
- Five or more years of experience developing IP policies, guides, regulations, or handbooks.
- Ten or more years of experience interpreting and implementing IP laws, regulations, policies, or guidance.
- Ten or more years analyzing or negotiating IP rights for either the government or a government contractor.
- Five or more years of experience supporting a DoD organization regarding IP rights.
