Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two years of pastry cook experience in a club, hotel, or resort environment are required.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Excellent baking and specialty cake-making skills are required.
- Working knowledge and understanding of modern pastry trends and techniques are required.
- Knowledge of all food service equipment and cutlery is required.
- The ability and willingness to work in other operational areas, including pantry, expo, plating, and prep, is required when needed.
- The role requires manual dexterity to operate standard office, retail, and culinary equipment.
- The role requires the ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods, bend, stoop, and reach.
- The role requires normal hearing and vision and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- The role requires the ability to function professionally in a challenging and demanding environment and remain on one's feet for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Pastry Chef with planning, developing, and producing high-quality pastries and desserts.
- Lead by example and promote the organization's core values, characteristics, employee constitution, and decision-making principles.
- Assist in preparing desserts and pastries for multiple dining concepts and the larger event space.
- Work with the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef to maintain menu continuity for desserts and ensure they complement members' salad and entrée selections.
- Assist the Executive Pastry Chef with all aspects of production and implementation.
- Assist with inventory.
- Perform additional duties, projects, and responsibilities as directed by the Executive Chef.
