  • The ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, work frequently near moving machinery, tolerate occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, and perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, with adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Reinforce Festival culture, guest service, and performance expectations for all Cake Decorators.
  • Train new Cake Decorators and provide ongoing guidance and support.
  • Prepare weekly work schedules for Cake Decorators.
  • Write and conduct performance reviews for Cake Decorators.
  • Address violations of company policies by documenting and advising on corrective actions.
  • Provide service to guests by assisting with finding items, taking special orders, and packaging and pricing items from the service case.
  • Observe and address sales floor and back stock conditions.
  • Communicate with the Department Manager and other bakery associates to maintain standards and ensure department goals are met.
  • Assist Cake Decorators with topping, finishing, and decorating bakery products.
  • Maintain inventory levels of supplies such as packaging, icing, and decorative accents.
  • Organize and clean work areas and shelves to maintain department cleanliness.
  • Maintain food safety logs and adhere to quality standards, including meeting quantity expectations by 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Answer questions from Bakery department associates and assist with telephone inquiries using proper etiquette.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schnuck Markets Acquires Festival Foods

Schnuck Markets, Inc. has acquired 100% of the shares of Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers, Inc. through the 1939 Group, Inc., owned by the Schnuck family. The acquisition includes shares from CEO Mark Skogen and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The 1939 Group will maintain the existing store banners and corporate headquarters, with Todd Schnuck as Chairman and CEO. The transaction is expected to close in October, subject to customary approvals.
