Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in electronics or printed circuit board assembly manufacturing environments, including surface-mount technology, through-hole, reflow, and wave soldering.
- Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610/620, AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems, and data-driven problem-solving methods including 8D, 5 Whys, and Pareto analysis.
- Proficiency with quality tools such as process failure mode and effects analysis, control plans, and statistical process control.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and influence across teams.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production quality performance and lead root-cause analysis for nonconformances, escapes, and yield issues.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring problems.
- Support first article inspections, in-process audits, and final inspection verification for surface-mount technology, through-hole, and mechanical assemblies.
- Collaborate with Process and Manufacturing Engineers to validate new processes, tooling, and equipment from a quality standpoint.
- Review manufacturing process instructions, customer specifications, and inspection criteria to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and other applicable standards.
- Analyze defect and rework data to identify trends and drive process and quality improvements.
- Support design-for-manufacturability reviews, engineering change orders, and material review board activities to ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality decisions.
- Participate in internal and external audits, including ISO, customer, and regulatory audits, and maintain quality system compliance.
- Provide quality training and guidance to production operators and technicians.
