Requirements
  • An Associate’s Degree or Certificate in CAD, Drafting or Design from an accredited vocational school, college or university is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience using AutoCAD and CADWorx software for oil and gas mechanical design is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations for the oil and gas industry is required.
  • The employee must be able to work safely on active construction sites.
  • The position requires 25–50% travel.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds or less.
  • The employee must be physically able to stand for long periods and/or walk long distances on varied surfaces.
  • The employee must be physically able to work outdoors under all weather conditions and terrain.
  • The employee must be able to sit for extended periods in front of a computer.
Responsibilities
  • Independently design small and large projects and adapt to changes in facility scope and design.
  • Train new or inexperienced employees.
  • Communicate between all disciplines and use cross-discipline knowledge to recognize design issues.
  • Explain and present design concepts to stakeholders.
  • Prepare complex drawings for projects involving mechanical components for natural gas, hydrocarbon, and industrial projects.
  • Create detailed three-dimensional models and produce two-dimensional construction drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, details, bills of material, and isometrics, from the models under the direction of an engineer.
  • Assist the engineering discipline and lead and direct drafters as needed to keep projects on task and on schedule.
  • Coordinate with managers, engineers, and designers to complete project assignments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Leica laser scan equipment and software.
  • Ground Penetrating Radar experience using GSSI equipment.
  • Line locating experience using RadioDetection equipment.
  • Autodesk Civil 3D experience.
  • Leica CloudWorx experience.
  • Current FAA Part 107 certification.
  • An Associate’s degree or higher in Drafting & Design or Engineering Technology.
