Requirements
  • Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith.
  • Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry.
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting teams or groups of employees.
  • Good verbal and written interpersonal communication skills and the ability to organize and prioritize a wide range of daily tasks with varied deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, flexibility, ability to work independently, and a team-oriented approach.
  • A strong sense of confidentiality.
  • Strong general computer skills and working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, operate a computer and standard office equipment, communicate clearly in person and over the phone, and occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach to access files and supplies.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry items up to 20 pounds.
  • Active attendance at a church whose statement of faith does not contradict Joni and Friends' Statement of Faith.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Development and Marketing teams to prepare meaningful tasks for volunteers, including handwritten notes, receipts, donor-care materials, product-packaging projects, and donor-gifting initiatives.
  • Coordinate meals, gifts, and tours for donor visits by assisting Development Officers with scheduling, planning meals, preparing and wrapping gifts, and ensuring presentation materials are ready and delivered.
  • Support the Executive Assistant in preparing and planning for department meetings, Development and Marketing gatherings, celebrations, and special events, including room setup, presentation-material preparation, technology support, travel coordination, and logistical assistance for meetings, trainings, and academies.
  • Partner with Major Gift Officers and the Events team to prepare notes, gifts, and communications for major in-person fundraising events throughout the year.
  • Assist Development Officers and the Donor Care team with large seasonal projects, including Easter cards, Thanksgiving cards, year-end gifts, and donor mailings.
  • Support the Executive Administrative team in arranging travel for both departments, including logistics for conferences, training events, team meetings, story-gathering trips, and in-person donor events.
  • Assist the Executive Assistant and the Director of Public Relations with product-development tasks as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Participate in or lead prayer and worship during meetings, events, and outreaches.
  • Model Joni and Friends' Christian beliefs and practices to advance its gospel mission during working and nonworking hours.
  • Support fellow staff and volunteers in following Christ by praying for each other, sharing Scripture, and setting an example of faithful Christian living.
  • Engage with people living with disabilities with love, dignity, and in a manner that commends and proclaims the gospel.
  • Affirm the Joni and Friends Statement of Faith annually and refrain from conduct or promoting religious beliefs inconsistent with it.
  • Uphold and advance Joni and Friends' Mission and Vision through a focus on its Values.
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required.
