Robotics Technician-Summer Apprenticeship

Fabrication is a key part of our business. Reporting to the Department Supervisor, a Robotics Technician is responsible for developing and maintaining processes for robots in our robotic polishing department. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, this is the role for you. Successful candidates will have some prior experience in fabrication.

What You Will Do:

• Program polishing robots
• Develop Robotic process to polish parts
• Establish base line & maintain on-going measurements related to robot productivity
• Problem solve robotic issues and polishing issues
• Recommend, test and implement process changes
• Participate with Engineering in installation of new robotic processes
• Keep abreast of latest programming techniques and recommend new processes and technology
• Optimize robot program through requisite knowledge of abrasives, programming and analysis of part movement through process

  What You Need to Succeed:

• Working towards Robotics Technology degree or Computer Integrated Manufacturing degree preferred.
• Training and experience in multi-axis robots, robot maintenance, robotic programming, and PLC Ladder Logic programming required.
• Working knowledge of motor controllers preferred.
• Working knowledge of proper use of abrasive products preferred.
• In addition, you ideally bring an ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete duties within specified timeframes, but if not, we will happily provide the training and support you need to be successful!
