Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or an additional 2 year's administrative experience.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and process financial and accounting reports, deliverables, accounts payable, cost accruals, and disbursements.
  • Apply financial reporting and accounting management as related to the federal government accounting standards.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets of obligations, accounts payable, cost accruals, and disbursements.
  • Assist with financial and accounting audits of complex contracts.
  • Analyze and prepare financial and accounting program activities.
  • Develop operating procedures, directives, and/or guides to convey information relating to financial or accounting processes.
  • Conduct studies improving accumulation, processes, and reporting of financial and accounting data to include development of complex funding documents and ongoing contract administration.
  • Process funding requests into the DEA’s financial management system for action.
  • Perform complex fund control activities.
  • Perform in a respectful and professional manner with employees.
  • Use analytical techniques and critical thinking to prepare delivery status of accounting, data or financial deliverables; identifies tracks and resolves data discrepancies or recommends solutions; attends meetings, working groups, and briefings.
  • Process invoices after careful analysis of financial and accounting information.
  • Track, organize, record, modify, identify, validate, analyze, and report financial and accounting data relating to procurement of commodities or services; reimbursable agreements; intra-agency agreements; account deliverable and receivables.

James Vant appointed CEO of cybersecurity firm XLA

XLA, a cybersecurity and data management provider serving the US federal government, has appointed James Vant as chief executive officer. Vant previously served as president of eTelligent Group and held senior leadership roles at Octo, an IBM company, where he managed profit and loss responsibilities and led strategic integration efforts. The Vienna, Virginia-based company provides cybersecurity, data analytics, technical solutions and international programme support services to federal agencies. Founded over 30 years ago, XLA has supported missions including homeland security, disaster relief and cybersecurity incidents. Vant succeeds Gary Slack, who is retiring after a decade leading the company. Lloyd Mustin, XLA's chairman and founder, cited Vant's two decades of experience in government services and IT as key qualifications for driving the company's next growth phase.
