  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, and/or in a project management capacity with a finance focus
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to efficiently work with data to both analyze and present key findings
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts and accounting basics
  • Ability to analyze variances and perform multi-level root cause analyses
  • An open and learning mindset with a strong customer focus
  • An ability to create relationships and work effectively in a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Proficiency with software systems such as G-Suite or Excel
  • Ability to establish priorities and accomplish objectives both independently and as part of a team
  • Prior industry experience
  • Prior experience with supporting development programs in a financial capacity
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on timely issue resolution
  • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite, Workday Adaptive (or comparable financial management reporting systems), Smartsheets, and time tracking software
Responsibilities
  • Complete total Estimate at Completion (EAC) budget updates for active projects: work closely with the CommOps team to ensure accuracy and reasonableness of forecasts, understand the key change drivers of program performance, and provide a holistic view of program cost with substantiation of changes along with recommendations for improvement
  • Validate actual costs: ensure the accuracy of the major cost elements allocated to programs including, but not limited to, direct labor hours (timesheets), experiment allocations (metrics), subcontracts, and other direct charges. Work collaboratively with the Accounting team to perform root cause analysis for any issues and improve processes where needed
  • Work with the CommOps, Business Development, and Legal teams (as required) to understand and communicate financial impacts associated with proposed contract modifications, as needed
  • Forecasting: provide input to the monthly forecast based on latest program estimates for the “pod/vertical” including variance analysis for Revenue, Margin, and Cash Flow
  • Support the Annual and Strategic planning process for the “pod/vertical”, including the creation of “pod/vertical” specific financial targets
  • Pricing: support new project proposals through the creation and validation of Basis-of-Estimate (BOE) data, and improve existing pricing tools to provide better fidelity to initial contract cost estimates. This includes “post-mortem” analysis on completed projects to ensure lessons learned are transferred to new projects
  • Track and report bookings of new contracts, and ensure a full understanding of accounting documentation consistent with the appropriate Revenue Recognition treatment (including any Down Stream Value implications)
  • Participate and provide reporting into the standard Weekly and Monthly Business reviews
  • In addition to the above, there are opportunities to support numerous process improvement projects and other ad hoc analyses
