Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Authorized to work in the United States without Sponsorship now or in the future or CPT/OPT through your University
  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. based university or college and enrolled in the fall semester after the completion of the internship
  • Must be a Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in undergrad or enrolled in an advanced degree program
  • Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between May and August
  • Must be able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship
Responsibilities
  • The candidate should be enrolled in a master's or graduate program majoring in biochemistry, cell biology, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical science, or other related life science majors.
  • The summer internship positions are in Drug Metabolism Department to focus on developing either robust systems for metabolite generation or for in vitro enzymology.
  • The candidate will gain experience in various ADME assays and analytical techniques (e.g., enzymes, subcellular fractions, hepatocyte culture systems, and mass spectrometry)
  • Under general supervision, the candidate will plan and execute experiments, develop new assays, select appropriate reagents and controls, and discuss results in team meetings.
  • The candidate will participate in group meetings and may be expected to present the results of their work at the end of the internship to the department.
